On 6 January 2020, the National Bushfire Recovery Agency was established by Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The Agency leads and coordinates the national response to rebuilding communities affected by the 2019-20 bushfires. Through the Australian Government’s National Bushfire Recovery Fund the NBRA are coordinating more than $2 billion in bushfire help for communities across Australia.
Sports Marketing Australia (SMA) works closely with more than 700 State and National Sporting Organisations, Event Promoters and Media Production Companies, to present a wide range of diverse events, programs and broadcast opportunities to the 64 Council and Tourism Organisation partners located across Australia and New Zealand.
UniSport’s primary focus is providing expertise and leadership in university sport. We deliver and integrate national policy that enhances and facilitates opportunities for competitive participation in sport for student-athletes. Supporting this, UniSport deliver a number of multi-sport competitions across the country, namely the University Nationals and the Australian Masters Games.
Sport UNE Football League focuses on providing accessible competitions to all, that build upon the success of regional Football and community spirit.
The SUFL competition hosts players from five years old, up to senior 1st-grade division, with many teams boasting generations of players and is built largely on foundation football clubs with over 50 years history.
Hockey New England (HNE) is situated in Armidale, set high on the Great Dividing Range in northern New South Wales. HNE administer hockey throughout the region and caters for all types of players from the very young to the more mature and from the elite to the developing. The New England Hockey Centre is located at Sport UNE at the University of New England, Armidale.
Over the 2021 October long weekend, Armidale will host over 50 traveling teams and their families from across the Northern New South Wales and Southern Queensland regions for a weekend packed full of sport.
Offering competitions that engage the Juniors, over 30’s and Senior age groups, the city will become home to families and competitors alike looking to make the most out of their time in the region.
